On July 31st, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, in conjunction with the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Bureau of Statistics, officially added “Internet Host” as a new profession recognized by the state. This marks the first time that the professional identity of internet hosts has been established in the "National Occupational Classification" determined by the state.
A new profession indicates a new frontier for job expansion. In response to the changing industry development demands, on September 11th, our school launched a lecture on “Internet Live Streaming Entrepreneurship” for students. The goal is to help them refine their professional skills, diversify their employment prospects, and ignite their passion for starting their own businesses.
Industry trends have shift from being uneven to being professional and responsible
As new productive forces gain momentum, the industry and talent demands are leaning towards innovation, and live-stream e-commerce is booming. With the industry's emergence, everyone could venture into live streaming. Today, the role of hosts is becoming more regulated and orderly. With a substantial market gap, there's a growing demand for high-caliber live-streaming professionals.
After fully recognizing the immense potential of the industry, our school has actively conducted market research and established cooperative relationships with several well-known live-streaming companies to offer courses related to live-commerce. Additionally, the school has invited experts from the live-streaming industry to give special lectures, analyzing the related development trends, job demands, and skill requirements.
Build a solid foundation for majors while sparking enthusiasm among interested students.
Talents are cultivated by introducing the practice of live streaming real scenes
“Compared to learning theoretical knowledge in the classroom, introducing the practice of live streaming real scenes allows students to better understand the industry.”
In March 2023, the school established an online live broadcast training platform called “Gingko Selection,” which integrates live teaching, live practice, and live incubation. The platform is closely linked with courses, providing students with the practice of live streaming real scenes. In August of the same year, a student team, leveraging their professional knowledge, went to the Pujiang kiwi fruit production base to live stream and assist farmers.
Additionally, led by professional teachers, students actively participate in various national practical competitions in cross-border e-commerce and electronic commerce, achieving remarkable results.
Based on this platform, our school’s entrepreneurial project teams have successively entered the live broadcast room, continuously integrating and optimizing resources from all parties to create a centralized hub for campus e-commerce resources and a talent pool for live e-commerce.
By keeping pace with industry trends, we are committed to helping students build a bridge to their future careers
The real-time and interactive nature of online live streaming has brought development opportunities to various industries, transforming the formats of multiple sectors. As students opt for a “two-way integration” with e-commerce live streaming the school accelerates the integration of industry and education, and the collaboration between schools and enterprises, opening up channels for talent training, practical training, and employment.
The head of the school’s Career and Entrepreneurship Office, Hu Rong, stated that pioneering employment opportunities in the live streaming industry is an important measure for the school to actively respond to the national call and innovate in employment. Since March 2023, our school has been innovating recruitment models, using the online “live streaming for job promotion” approach to continuously build an accurate bridge between employers and students.
As live streamer officially become a new occupation, the school will invite the live streaming industry to recruit on campus at the autumn job fair, providing a wealth of job opportunities. In the future, the school will continue to strengthen cooperation with live streaming enterprises, offer more employment opportunities and development space, and build a bridge connecting students' dreams and reality.
