Gingko Students Won the 14th National Tourism Colleges and Universities Service Skills (Tourist Guide Service) Competition

The 14th National Tourism Colleges and Universities Service Skills (Tourist Guide Service) Competition was held in Zhengzhou from 23rd to 26th May under the guidance of the Department of Market Management of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and China Tourism Association, and hosted by the Tourism Education Sub-committee of China Tourism Association. A total of 883 contestants from 303 tourism colleges and universities in 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government applied for the contest.

Yuan Jia and Wang Qian, the students of the 2022 Tourism Management Major in the School of Culture and Tourism, under the guidance of Zhang Huihui, Meng Lingyu and other teachers, carefully prepared for the competition for more than two months, for the theoretical assessment, talent demonstration, attraction explanation and thematic explanation of the competition links. Finally, after competing with players from Southwest University for Nationalities, Xinjiang University, Northeast University of Petroleum and other colleges and universities, it won the second prize in the country.

The teaching mode of the integration of race and education is a good promotion for the College of Culture and Tourism of Gingko College to cultivate professional, innovative and high-quality tourism talents with practical ability, innovative thinking and comprehensive quality, and the College of Culture and Tourism of our university attaches great importance to discipline-specific competitions and takes discipline-specific competitions as a "litmus test" for testing the quality and level of education and teaching. This competition, has strengthened students' understanding of professional knowledge of tourism, enhanced their practical ability, and laid a solid foundation for the continuous promotion of professional construction and cultivation of cultural and tourism talents.
