Good news came from Thailand one after another on November 15, followed by the details. Our college signed a college-level agreement of friendly cooperation with the Prince of Songkia University in Thailand, witnessed by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand. The persons in charge of the Hospitality Management Department and the Tourism Management Department of our college signed a faculty-level agreement of project cooperation with the Hospitality Management Faculty and the Tourism Management Faculty of the Prince of Songkia University. What's more, our college signed a college-level agreement of academic collaborations with the Hospitality Management Faculty of the Dusit Thani College in Thailand.
The trip was more than just signing contracts, said Li Ming, the President of Gingko College of Hospitality Management, during his visit to Thailand. Signing of the three agreements indicates that the multinational cooperation of our college has been realized, and in the meantime, it denotes that our college will enjoy a bright prospect in multinational cooperation. Signing of the three agreements indicates that the efforts we have made during the past several months in the cooperation with the two top-level colleges of hospitality and tourism management in Thailand have paid off. In addition, it shows that our college plays an active role in implementation of 'the Belt and Road' initiative of our country and Sichuan's deployment of extending opening up and cooperation with the south of Sichuan, in order to expand the region for international schooling of our college.
To be more 'professional'
Our college is dedicated to both academic research and technical application
The two colleges in Thailand we chose to cooperate with boast outstanding teams and excellent professional capability. The Prince of Songkia University in Thailand, ranking sixth in the list of top colleges and universities in Thailand and standing at the same position in the QS World University Rankings with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, is a comprehensive university integrating high-level education and academic research; Besides, the Dusit Thani Bangkok Hotel Group, the parent company of the Hospitality Management Faculty of the Dusit Thani College in Thailand owns nearly 30 luxury hotels around the world.
We aim to promote the training of professionals by means of focusing on both academic research and technical application through collaboration with colleges and universities featuring the two issues. The communication of our school with the two colleges in Thailand is carried out in multiple aspects, including mutual recognition of credits, exchange of students, teachers' visit and interaction of education research, etc. The cooperation is oriented to the training of professional skills of tourism and hospitality management while boosting the development of academic research of the profession. The concept of integration of industry and education and joint building of students' capacity upheld by our college is embodied throughout the process.
Although the signing represents the end of a journey, a new round of exploration is just set off. Our college's collaboration with colleges and universities in Thailand speeds up the implementation of multiple projects, including setting of professional courses, training of overseas projects, fusion of disciplines and teaching team building, etc.
To be more 'international'
To realize constructive interaction between domestic and overseas resources
Thailand boasts a favorable location, standing in the heartland of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region, it links the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region with the China region. The hospitality and tourism industry in Thailand plays an essential role in its international arena. The constant efforts Thailand has made in training of professionals for the modernized hospitality and tourism industry are what enable it to maintain the international level in the two businesses. The training concept upheld by the colleges and universities in Thailand and their relevant professional courses have naturally become an essential supply system of human resources to the hospitality industry.
In order to meet the requirements of education actions oriented to China's 'the Belt and Road' initiative and implement the strategic deployment of 'expanding at all directions and opening up of all regions', our college has expanded accesses to the sea in the south of Sichuan and worked hard to meet the professional requirements of the colleges and universities in Thailand. The cooperation with Thailand is mainly focus on the exchange of superior resources and mutual consultation in tourism and hospitality management. We hope to introduce the advanced international philosophy of professional education and the excellent culture of service management while promoting the splendid culture of Sichuan across the world by providing a platform. The cooperation with the two colleges in Thailand shows our school's long-term planning of extending the education to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region.
From initial exploration to understanding, we have made significant progress in international cooperation and influence. We have been keeping close communication and exchanging visits with well-known schools of hospitality management worldwide, and we have established an international academic exchange and research center to build a platform of international development for the teachers of our school. In addition, we plan to add international courses to help the professional courses of our college to play a role in the global business. With constant efforts and study, we aim to become a leading school in the hospitality and tourism business.
To be more 'distinctive'
Take full advantages of superior local resources to encourage the professional development
Developing countries are now where the new growth points of tourism services concentrate in, as Dr. Fu Jing said. Thailand, a developing country though, boasts enormous natural resources, which play an essential role in the booming growth of its hospitality and tourism market. Sichuan, located in the less-developed southwestern China, is highly welcomed by the hospitality and tourism market with its diversity in natural and cultural resources.
Our college gives full play to the abundant tourism resources in Sichuan and plays an active role in the development of hospitality and tourism businesses. We have established a Sichuan Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Tourism and Hospitality Management with the distinctive teaching philosophy. Besides, we have made great headway in practical teaching base, teaching research as well as project development and application by adhering to the open and accommodative school-running philosophy with distinctive features. All these efforts made by our college are recognized by both the two colleges in Thailand.
The teaching methods with distinctive Chinese and Thai features may interact upon the signing. In terms of the efforts and targets of future development of our college, we will adopt and apply the foreign teaching philosophy to our school by taking the local conditions into account and give full play to the abundant tourism resources in Sichuan, in order to boost the development of education and teaching of our school, train professionals who are capable of adapting to both domestic and overseas businesses, and to lead the growth of tourism and hospitality businesses. The goal of our school's development at the present stage is to expand the channels for each department and discipline of our school to be international while maintaining the recognition of the professional courses throughout the process.
