The Major Project on Talent Cultivation Quality and Teaching Reform of Higher Education in Sichuan Province from Gingko College of Hospitality Management was Approved

The Education Department of Sichuan Province recently announced the evaluation results of major projects on talent cultivation quality and teaching reform in higher education for 2018-2020. The project of Gingko College of Hospitality Management “Research on the Reform of University-Enterprise Deep Integration and Collaborative Education Mode Based on the Demand of Tourism and Hotel Industry” has been identified as a major project of talent training quality and teaching reform of higher education in Sichuan Province from 2018 to 2020.

Based on the educational orientation of Gingko College, this project focuses on the mainline of “serving the local, integrating industry and education, and cooperating in educating people” in the new era, and focuses on the guidance of the pilot transformation, practising the collaborative education model of deep integration of college and enterprise, and integrating the needs of enterprises into the talent training link. Besides, the project aims at promoting the project-based training mode for industry and enterprise, innovate the talent training mode, build the collaborative education platform of the integration between industry and education, explore the reform of the supply side of talent training in the tourism and hotel industry, as well as analyze, research and practice the university-enterprise deep integration and collaborative education model which interact with the “industry chain─talent-training chain” for the development needs of tourism and hotel industry. 

Teaching is the foundation of colleges and universities. Gingko College of Hospitality Management attaches great importance to education, teaching research and teaching reform. It has issued “Management Measures for Educational and Teaching Reform Project”, revised and improved “Management Measures for Bilingual Courses” and “Management Measures for Public Elective Courses”. A series of activities, such as seminars on the reform of talent training mode, teaching competition for young teachers and selection of teaching achievement awards, was held to focus on the core elements and key links of talent training. Gingko College adheres to the high-quality development path with quality improvement as the core, innovate the talent training mechanism and mode, actively carry out curriculum construction and research-based teaching reform, to steadily improve the quality of talent training.

In the past two years, Gingko College has approved more than 40 college-level teaching reform projects, concluded 1 key project of talent cultivation quality and teaching reform of higher education in Sichuan Province from 2018 to 2020, concluded 3 general projects, had 6 courses identified as provincial first-class undergraduate courses, had 3 courses identified as provincial demonstration courses on “Ideological and Political Education”, and achieved 11 college-level teaching achievement awards and 2 teaching achievement awards of Sichuan Association for Non-Government Education.
