The 28th Annual Conference of the International Federation for Information Technology and Tourism (IFITT) was held from the 19th to the 22nd of January 2021 at 11:45 am CET (6:45 pm BST). Titled Opportunities and Challenges in the Changing World, the conference was held online. Facilitated by the Global Engagement Center, the conference was attended by faculty members across a few departments, including the Department of Hospitality Management, Department of Tourism Management, Department of Information Engineering and Management and Department of Foreign Languages.
The International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism (IFITT) is the oldest and most authoritative international academic organization in the field of tourism and information technology. The IFITT aims at examining the applications and impact of emerging information and communication technology (ICT) in tourism, and is committed to building a quality communication platform for experts, scholars, enterprises, governments and other related organizations.
The ENTER conference in 2022 will be held at Nankai University, and the theme of the conference will continue to focus on cutting-edge global knowledge and outstanding achievements in digitalization, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and augmented reality as applied to hospitality and tourism. The conference will reveal best practices regarding modern information technology and how those technologies can best be used to optimize performance within the hospitality and tourism industry. Gingko College students and faculty will actively participate in the conference and invite academic and industry colleagues to work together to build a smart ecosystem for China's modern service industry.
