On the morning of September 30, 2019, Mr. Richard Adie, General Manager of Cornell's Statler Hotel for 18 years of Statler Hotel of Cornell University and strategic consultant of Ginkgo Education Group, visited Gingko College and conducted a research on the practice teaching in Department of Hotel Management (DHM) Mr. Richard Adie was received by Dr. Fu Jing, Vice President of Gingko College, who accompanied him throughout the visit.
Mr. Richard Adie visited the smart hotel labs of DHM. In Classroom2505, Mr. Adie shared his valuable experience on what a hotel industry is, how to cultivate professional identity and sense of pride, and how to balance the relationship between life and work with students of DHM. At the same time, Mr. Adie took Cornell students as an example to encourage students to discover and make good use of their strengths, thinking and planning career paths from subtle work. Mr. Adie spoke highly of students' language competencies and sense of professionalism and standardized management of the laboratory.

Later, Mr. Adie visited the Simple Café, which was mainly operated and managed by students. He discussed with the management team and some teaching faculty of DHM on the deep integration between theoretical knowledge and practical skills. He acknowledged Gingko College's efforts on utilizing a cafe, a real work place as a practice teaching mode, where students can integrate classroom-teaching with best practices. This teaching mode allows students to engage in the whole process of operating a cafe, which is as significant as the teaching hotel in Nanxi campus. Mr. Adie acknowledged that the theoretical and practice courses of the hotel management major of Gingko College have been steadily advancing towards an international direction, and suggested that attention should be paid to a Ginkgo brand.

Mr. Adie agreed with the mechanism of practice teaching and international development strategies, fully appreciated the good quality and spiritual outlook of our students, and he is confident that they will grow into elites leading the development of the Chinese hospitality industry in the near future.
