The Yinxing-SEG Summit & the International Forum on Hospitality Management Education Successfully Held

After the strategic MOU signing between Yinxing and Swiss Education Group (SEG), a Summit & the International Forum on Hospitality Management Education was successfully held from December 2-7, 2019 in Yinxing. Led by Mr. John Daly, Director of Teaching Process of SEG and Vice President of International Center of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE), Mr. Stephan Earnhart, Managing Director of SEG Professional, Ms. Sonia Santana, Assistant Managing Director of SEG Professional, Ms. Lindsey Thomas, Director of Swiss Hotel Management University Project & Student Affairs, Mr. Zhou Long, Director of China-Swiss Affair of SEG& Training of SEG Professional, Mr. Chen Chuanyao, General Manager of Professional Training &China Affair Cooperation of SEG, Mr. Simon Cleaver, Director of Foreign Cooperation of Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH) visited Yinxing and attended this activity. On December 2th, The Yinxing-SEG Summit was held in 510 meeting room, which was chaired by Dr. Fu Jing, the Vice President. All representatives of SEG, strategic consultant of Gingko Education Management Company You Junjie, President Li Ming, Deputy Executive President Yu Yuan, Deputy President Wei Zhao, Dr. Fu Jing, Manager Edward of teaching hotel, Chairman Assistant Li Jingjing, attended the meeting. Responsible persons and teachers from office of teaching affairs, international cooperation division, international academic exchange and research center, hotel management department, tourism management department also attended the meeting. In the morning, President Mr. Li Ming gave a welcome speech to express his appreciation to SEG guests. Then he gave a brief introduction on the basic situation, college positioning, school running pattern, development strategy, advantages and social impact of Yinxing. He emphasized that Yinxing has always adhered to an open mind and heart to a global world. Dr. Fu Jing introduced the current status and characteristic development idea of Yinxing. On the basis of Nanxi Campus, she clarified the talent cultivating model putting integration of industry and teaching and international development at the same place. SEG delegation expressed their gratitude for the warm reception of Yinxing. Mr. Chen Chuanyao, General Manager of Professional Training &China Affair Cooperation of SEG expressed that two sides have maintained deep friendship and close contacts, and have been working together to nurture talents for hospitality. In addition, SEG showed their willingness to further cooperate with Yinxing and hoped to embark on a new chapter of cooperation between the two sides. Mr. John Daly also introduced the training certificate projects, training courses of SEG, bachelor degree project and master degree project of SEG. Mr. Simon Cleaver was impressed by teaching model of Yinxing especially the establishment of Nanxi Campus in Yibing. Then he introduced on curriculum, procedure and cooperation method accredited by THE-ICE and CTH. In the afternoon, the two sides conducted discussion and exchange revolving around student cultivation, diploma promotion, further education, co-training and establishment of faculty team. The Yinxing-SEG International Hotel Management Talent Forum was held from December 3-6. The experts of SEG and the teachers of Yinxing shared their own academic views on the overview of international hotel management industry, international talent development and advanced training concept, contemporary trend of the tourism and hotel management industry, hotel management education system and teaching model in Swiss, the full exploitation of students’ potential, the prospects of hotel management and the tourism industry, and experiential teaching in the practice. The experts from SEG also visited the teaching classrooms of several majors such as hotel management, tourism management, exhibition economy and management; in addition they gave thematic lectures to students. Experts from SEG expressed that they have felt advanced teaching concept and solid foundation. The successful holding of forum has strengthened the communication between Yinxing and the SEG, and laid the foundation for the future cooperation.
