Insight into Intangible Cultural Heritages · Inheritance of Classics - The 2nd

From November 7 to 20, the College held the 2nd "Gingko Cup" Cultural Tourism Series. Organized by the Department of Tourism Management, this event comprises a series of activities, including the "intangible cultural heritage lecture hall", "intangible cultural heritage" forum, "presentation, performance and exhibition" of intangible cultural heritages, a trip to the study of "intangible cultural heritages, and others. Song Qing, inheritor of over twenty intangible cultural heritages, including the "Face Changing" in Sichuan Opera, paper cutting and sugar painting and deputy director of the Advisory Committee of Sichuan Provincial Tourism Association Study Travel Branch, Li Ming, president of the College, Wei Zhao, Fu Jing and Yi Xianwen, vice president of the College, Huang Fang, assistant of the President, Li Jingjing, assistant of the Chairman, Tang Lin and Deng Haopeng, alumni representatives, participated the activities successively.

 

At the opening ceremony, Fu Jing pointed out that the intangible cultural heritage, as one of the representatives of China's splendid culture, embodies the wisdom of our predecessors and is a carrier of a special way of thinking full of human's deep emotions, and that the inheritance of intangible cultural heritages is inseparable from the passion and contribution of the inheritors and the inheritance and development by the younger generations. And she also expressed her expectation that this event would stimulate the teachers and students to learn more about intangible cultural heritages so as to make contributions to the development of splendid Chinese culture.

In the "tangible cultural heritage lecture hall" activity, Zhou Kai, Cultural Consultant from Chengdu Culture and Art Communication Co., Ltd. gave a lecture - Practical Value of Traditional Cultures Nowadays - Example of Intangible Cultural Heritages to the students, in which he analyzed the Chinese cultures in a historical time sequence and presented an ideal model that incorporates culture & art with products based on the intangible cultural heritages and fashion elements at present.

 

A trip to the study of "intangible cultural heritages" was carried out in Zhanqi Village, a village among the first batch of national key villages of rural tourism. As the tutors for study travel, students from the Department of Tourism Management led the fourth-grade students of Yizhou Primary School in Hi-Tech Zone of Chengdu City to appreciate the local ecological characteristics and experience the agricultural tourism of Western Sichuan agricultural civilization.

 

The activities themed "presentation, display and performance" of intangible cultural heritages were carried out on the campus. Zhang Rong, a student from the Gingko Culture and Tourism Study Travel Studio, gave a presentation to 10 routes of intangible cultural heritages, and the intangible cultural heritage inheritors brought the teachers and students an audio-visual cultural feast with their presentation and performance of four intangible cultural heritages, namely the Kangting Liuliu tune, face changing, martial arts and Tai Chi. In the intangible cultural creativity fair, over twenty intangible cultural heritage items with Sichuan Characteristics were exhibited, which stimulated the students' interest to learn from the inheritors, and some of them even experienced these items.

It is worth noting that the "presentation, exhibition and performance" activity, as a practical item of the Exhibition Events Management course, was carried out by the students of Grade 2018 majoring in Exhibition Economy Management. The teaching mode, under which the students are driven by projects, led by tasks and guided by innovative courses, aims to train the students' abilities in creative planning, operating, execution, and collaboration.

The "intangible cultural heritage" forum invited Song Qing, who is the Deputy Director of the Advisory Committee of Sichuan Provincial Tourism Association Study Travel Branch, as well as the teacher and student representatives from the Department of Tourism Management to hold a discussion on the subject of "study travel management and service of intangible cultural heritages".


After the event, the teachers and students' knowledge about the intangible cultural heritages were further enhanced, enabling them to infuse these heritages into their work and study and fully perceive the cultural confidence, so as to truly play a part in carrying forward the Chinese culture of great splendor.
