Two Majors of the College Including Hotel Management Approved as a First-class Undergraduate Major

Recently, Sichuan Provincial Department of Education has published the evaluation results of first-class undergraduate major construction of colleges and universities in 2019 of the province, of which, two majors, namely, Hotel Management and Tourism Management, have been approved as the first-class majors for construction in Sichuan Province.

The approved majors of the college focus on the main points of "local services, integration of industry and education, and collaborative education", and aim to cultivate high quality applied talents in the hotel and tourism industry. Based on the three-dimensional curriculum system and with practice teaching bases such as the teaching hotel of the college as carriers, the college has built a platform for the integration of industry and education, constantly strengthened the construction of professional connotation, and innovated the training mode of talents, initially forming a new pattern of "industry chain - talent training chain" that closely connects the development demand of local industry cluster and tourism and hotel industry.

In recent years, in active response to the strategic development demand of national and provincial cultural tourism industry, the college has promoted the comprehensive reform of undergraduate education, actively adapted to industrial changes, optimized the structure of majors, deepened the comprehensive reform, improved the talent training mode to highlight characteristics of majors, enhanced the integration of industry and education guided by the industry demands, and stably improved the training of all majors. Next, the college, based on the construction of provincial first-class majors, will strengthen the process management, grasp the connotation construction of majors and drive the development of all majors in the college to make a good progress of the first-class applied undergraduates for Ginkgo College and the industry.
