Experts of Hong Kong Poly U DiscussedPractical Teaching Model of Hotel Management

To further improve the quality of practical teaching for the hotel management major in Yinxing, Dr. Tony Tse, Professor of Practice of School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Hong Kong Poly U, delivered a lecture on the topic of “Practical Teaching of Hotel and Modern Service Industry: Resource Building and Application” on March 30,2019. Dr. Wei Zhao, Vice President of Yinxing, Li Junjie, General Secretary of the Party branch ofDepartment of Hotel Management, Xu Junyi, director of Department of Hotel Management, Hu Rong, director of the laboratory, and key teachers of Department of Hotel Management attended the seminar. Dr. Tse took Hotel Icon, the teaching hotel of the Hong Kong Poly U (SHTM) as a case study and explained from several aspects such as the establishment, operation, teaching and training of the teaching hotel, the operation and management of the training restaurant, the service and practice learning. Combined with the development orientation of Hong Kong PloyU, he analyzed the teaching and research functions of the "Hotel ICON" and its important role for SHTM, as well as related research work. After the lecture, Dr. Tse and the teachers of Yinxing discussed on the value and contribution of training hotel to practical knowledge in teaching. During the communication, the participating teachers jumped out of their mindsets, clearly positioned, and actively discussed the development and methods of the practice mode of hotel management in Yinxing. Each participating teacher was actively thinking deeply about the development of Yinxing's characteristics. The launch of this seminar fully reflects the pragmatic, innovative and internationalized work ideas of Yinxing. And it’s a booster for strengthening foreign cooperation and exchanges. At the same time, it also shows that Yinxing attaches great importance to the practice teaching construction of hotel management. Through face-to-face communication, teachers believe that the practical teaching mode of SHTM is highly consistent with the educational thinking of serving students and cultivating moral character of Yinxing. It also provides a good reference for the practice teaching construction of hotel management major of Yinxing.
