Program Overview

Established in 2002, Department of Tourism Management as one of the distinctive and key departments of Gingko College is committed to cultivating applied and cross-border high-end talents in the field of culture and tourism. The students will be trained to be able to adapt to the new economy in the digital era with excellent professionalism, profound liberal knowledge and international vision. It has set up the talent cultivation philosophy of "Tourism-led, Cultural and Tourism Integration, Cross-border Cultivation, and School-Enterprise Cooperation" mode, with 40+ famous cultural and tourism enterprises at home and abroad, such as Disney, SUNAC, Shanghai Airlines, Tianfu Exposition, to build a solid internship and practice platform for students, helping them to improve their professional abilities and achieve rapid growth as future elites in the cultural and tourism industry.

Faculty

Faculties with senior titles and “dual-teachers dual abilities” account for more than 60%, and several of them are experts in the field of cultural and tourism in Sichuan Province, Sichuan Tourism Association Study Tour branch, and Chengdu exhibition industry.


In the past three years, the faculty team has conducted more than 40 scientific research projects above the bureau level, including 1 National Social Science Foundation project, more than 30 provincial and ministerial level projects, published more than 100 academic papers, 4 in SCI and EI, 7 core publications, and 11 professional textbooks. 


Faculties have actively participated in the social service work such as the evaluation of Tianfu Famous Tourism Counties, rural tourism revitalization, and the guidance of tourism poverty alleviation demonstration area (village) organized by provincial and municipal government departments, achieving remarkable results and recognition from relevant government departments.


Career Prospects

Graduates can engage in planning, marketing, operation and management in tourism administration departments, tourism e-commerce enterprises, digital cultural tourism scenic spots, tourism consulting companies, customized travel enterprises, cultural tourism planning companies, theme parks and other cultural tourism-related fields, as well as startups in rural tourism and leisure fields, study tour industries and other cultural tourism fields.
